Thomas R. Saullo, MD

Dr. Saullo (pronounced SAWL-lo) specializes in physical Medicine and rehabilitation, helping patients decrease pain and increase function through various therapies and through nonoperative, minimally invasive procedures.

He is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Dr. Saullo completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia/Cornell, where he received the Peer Resident Recognition Award for Exemplary Service and Leadership. He went on to complete a fellowship in interventional spine care at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.

Dr. Saullo joined Spine & Scoliosis Specialists in 2011. He has hands-on understanding of the important role that physical medicine can play in a patient’s recovery, having worked for eight years as a physical therapist prior to and during his time in medical school.

He has trained in numerous advanced spinal techniques, including:

  • Epidural injections

  • Radiofrequency ablation

  • Vertebroplasty & kyphoplasty

Dr. Saullo enjoys educating patients about the spine. He also has presented educational programs for medical students, earning the Excellence in Teaching Award for his work in 2006 during his internship at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University Department of Medicine.
